Kolache Eating Contest  - 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 8th

The 2012 Kolache Festival will be host to the twentieth Annual Texas KOLACHE EATING STATE CHAMPIONSHIP CONTEST. The event will be held in conjunction with all the festivities in the Kolache Capital of Texas on September 10, 2011.  The Eating Contest is an E.E.O.K. (Equal Eating of Kolaches) and cash prizes and caps will be given to the Men and Women’s Individual Champion, the Youth (boys & girls under 12) Individual Champions, and each member of the Championship Team Eating Division. The competition will be judged, timed and Czeched by officials of the event and the format will be:    

1.   The first three (3) TEAMS consisting of 3 adult members (male or female, 13 years or older) to turn in a completed registration form before 10:45 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2012, will compete in the Team competition.  Each team will be timed on eating a total of TWENTY-FOUR (24) award winning kolaches and the first Team to completely consume all 24 kolaches in the fastest time will be deemed the winner.

 2.       The first six (6) WOMEN to turn in a completed registration form before 10:45 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2012, will compete in the Women’s individual competition.  Each entrant will be timed on eating FOUR (4) award winning kolaches and the first to completely consume all 4 kolaches in the fastest time will be deemed the winner.

3.       The first six (6) GIRLS to turn in a completed registration form before 10:45 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2012, will compete in the Girl’s (12 & under) individual competition.  Each entrant will be timed on eating THREE (3) award winning kolaches and the first to completely consume all 3 kolaches in the fastest time will be deemed the winner.

4.       The first six (6) BOYS to turn in a completed registration form before 10:45 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2012, will compete in the Boy’s (12 & under) individual competition.  Each entrant will be timed on eating THREE (3) award winning kolaches and the first to completely consume all 3 kolaches in the fastest time will be deemed the winner.

5.       The first twelve (12) MEN to turn in a completed registration form before 10:45 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2012, will compete in the Men’s individual competition.  Each entrant will be timed on eating EIGHT (8) award winning kolaches and the first to completely consume all 8 kolaches in the fastest time will be deemed the winner.

There will be no registration fees charged to enter into the competition but all registration forms must be completed prior to the time set out above and received by the Kolache Festival Eating Contest Chairperson and placed on the official contest roster.  It is the entrant’s responsibility to verify that they are on the official contest roster and be at the main stage area no later than 10:50 a.m.  If an entrant is not present at the required time, the next entrant on the list in that category will take their place.

At the conclusion of the final contest, the winners of each division will be declared the Kolache Eating Champions of Texas and awarded cash prizes and a cap, compliments of Spirit of Texas Bank.

If you or your organization would like to participate in the individual or team competition, please complete the form below and return it to Burleson County Chamber of Commerce, Attn: Kolache Festival Eating Contest, 301 N. Main, Caldwell, Texas 77836 or on-site individual registrations starting Saturday, September 8, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. near South Stage at the corner of Echols & Buck Streets until 10:45 a.m.  ALL ENTRANTS MUST BE AT THE SOUTH STAGE NO LATER THAN 10:50 A.M. OR THEY WILL BE REPLACED BY THE NEXT ENTRANT IN THAT CATEGORY. 

In consideration of this entry, I release for myself, for my heirs, Burleson County Chamber of Commerce, Kolache Festival and any sponsors and/or officials of the Kolache Eating Contest, from all claims, demands, liabilities, damages, causes of action, of any nature, including claims for injury, illness or death, arising out of my participation in the Kolache Festival Eating Contest.  I state that I am in proper physical condition to participate in this event.  I hereby grant full permission to use my name & photographs, videotapes, or other record of this event for any purpose.
