Kolache Eating Contest

In front of South Stage
(Corner of Buck & Echols)

The 2008 Kolache Festival will be host to the seventeenth Annual Texas KOLACHE EATING STATE CHAMPIONSHIP CONTEST. The event will be held in conjunction with all the festivities in the Kolache Capital of Texas on September 13, 2008. The Eating Contest is an E.E.O.K. (Equal Eating of Kolaches) and cash prizes will be given to the Men and Women’s Individual Champion, the Youth (boys & girls under 12) Individual Champions, and each member of the Championship Team Eating Division. The competition will be judged, timed and Czeched by officials of the event and the format will be:

Men’s Individual competitors will be timed on eating 8 award winning Kolaches; women will be timed on eating 5 Kolaches, and the youth (boys & girls 12 and under) eating 4 Kolaches.
Adult team competitors will have 3 member teams (men and/or women). Each member must eat all 8 Kolaches that are placed in front of him or her. The team that eats all 24 Kolaches in the fastest time will be declared winner.

At the conclusion of the contest, the winners of each division will be declared the Kolache Eating Champions of Texas and awarded cash prizes, compliments of SPJST State Office.

Entry fees for the Texas Championship are $6.00 for women and youth (girls & boys-12 & under) entry fee will be $5.00, $10.00 for men, and $25.00 for each team entered. If you or your organization would like to participate in the individual or team competition, please complete the form below and return it with your Czech or cash (if paying cash, please have correct amount).

Team Pre-Registration deadline is NOON Friday, September 12^th, at the Chamber office. Mail early individual registration to Kolache Festival, c/o Chamber of Commerce, 301 N. Main St., Caldwell, TX 77836. On-site individual registration starting at 10:00 a.m. near South Stage, corner of Echols & Buck, until contest starts at 11:30 a.m.
